Thieves are adept at the art of stealth. They utilize surprise and shadow to get close to their enemies, and they're deadly in one-on-one combat. They have an affinity for setting traps and going where they were never meant to go. As an adventurer profession, thieves wear medium armor. Thieves practice an agile, acrobatic fighting style, which can make them very hard to hit.
The Thief uses a resource called Initiative, and always has at least one initiative-free ability. The Thief can Steal items from every enemy in the game (including players), which give unique, often one-use abilities. The stolen items come from a pool of possible items based off of the type of enemy, or the enemy’s profession. Thieves are highly mobile and are capable of going into Stealth. Thieves also gain a special ability based off of the combination of the two weapons they wield, making main and offhand choices extra important.
The Thief can wield a Sword in its main hand, Daggers and Pistols in either hand, and a Shortbow with both hands.
Thieves use the Steal skill to create useful weapons based on the opponents they’re fighting at the time.
When using a main-hand and off-hand weapon combination, thieves have access to a spectacular Dual Skill that is determined by their weapons.
Thieves have access to skills that allow them to enter stealth mode, which renders them invisible to enemies.
• Shadow Step
With Shadow Step, thieves can teleport into the battle or away from danger.
I really enjoy the thief. I haven't tried any other professions yet though so I can't say how it compares. I think many of our Guild Wars 2 players will enjoy it as well. Hope we can make more Guild Wars 2 gold and great items with its skills quickly. Have Fun！
