Players have been plowing through MMO-without-a-monthly-free Runescape for months, but if you want to participate in the game's big step forward later this year, you'll have to whip out the wallet. Runescape: Factions will be released in the second half of 2006 and feature all the bullet point additions you'd expect from an expansion pack.
You hardly need to be told of Runescape: Faction's basic features: new regions (such as Battle Isles), professions (including Assassin and Ritualist), skills, missions, and monsters, expanded options for cooperative and Player vs. Player gameplay and additional guild options.
Instead of having to blindly shell out cash for the content, though, Arena Net's giving players a free opportunity to check out the Assassin and Ritualist professions, Battle Isles region, and the new PvP observer mode on January 20th through the 22nd. Buying cheaper Runescape is not an easy job.
Arena.Net has struck gold with Runescape. Proving the subscription model isn't the only way to publish an MMO, the company is just about ready to release its next Runescape game. runescape gold.Runescape Factions is now scheduled to ship out on April 28th, but you certainly don't have to wait until then to join in on the action.
All you have to do is pre-order the game and you'll receive what Arena.Net is calling the Runescape Factions pre-order pack, which includes access to the Factions Preview Event on March 24, exclusive in-game items, a "friend-key" for those without Runescape, a limited trial of the original game for a friend, a tactical guide, a quick reference card, and a CD that includes concept art, wallpapers, and in-game trailers.
